Insurance Rebuilds

Insurance Rebuild Contractor in New Jersey

After a fire, a burst supply line, or a storm, the rebuild is the part that determines whether your home comes back properly. Mitigation crews dry the structure and remove what is unsalvageable. What follows is a full construction project, and it needs a licensed general contractor who can document scope, price it accurately, and rebuild to code.

Strong Construction LLC has rebuilt homes across Northern and Central New Jersey for more than 20 years after fire, flood, water, and wind damage. We work alongside your adjuster, we pull the permits, and we put the house back with the same standards we apply to a luxury renovation.

Documenting the real scope of loss

Insurance settlements come down to documentation. We walk the property with you, photograph and measure every affected area, and build a room-by-room scope covering framing, sheathing, insulation, drywall, trim, flooring, cabinetry, tile, paint, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. Hidden damage matters as much as the obvious burn or water line: charred sheathing behind finished walls, saturated subfloor beneath a tiled bathroom, and smoke that has traveled through supply ducts into rooms that look untouched. We identify those before the estimate is finalized rather than filing supplements later.

Working with your adjuster, not against them

We speak the same estimating language as your carrier and provide our scope in a format the adjuster can review line by line. Where our scope differs from the carrier's, we explain the difference with photographs, code citations, and manufacturer requirements rather than argument. Where current code requires an upgrade the original construction did not have, such as arc-fault protection, egress window sizing, or updated flood elevation requirements, we identify it clearly so it can be addressed under the ordinance-or-law portion of your policy if you carry it.

Rebuilding to code and to a real standard of finish

A rebuild is a permitted project. We file with the local construction office for building, plumbing, electrical, and fire subcodes, and we coordinate the inspections through to a certificate of approval. Structural repairs are engineered and sealed where required. Beyond the code minimum, we rebuild with the finish quality of our renovation work: proper waterproofing in bathrooms, level floors, correct millwork returns, and paint prep that holds. Many clients take the opportunity to improve a layout while the walls are already open, and we price that upgrade separately from the insurance scope so the accounting stays clean.

Clear communication while you are displaced

Losses are stressful, and being out of your home makes every delay feel longer. You get a dedicated project manager, a published schedule with milestone dates, weekly photo updates, and a single point of contact who returns calls. Change orders and supplements are documented in writing. Our aim is that you always know what is happening in a house you cannot walk through every day.

Where we rebuild

We serve homeowners throughout Bergen, Hudson, Essex, Passaic, Union, Morris, Middlesex, and Monmouth counties, along with eastern Pennsylvania. Northern New Jersey sees a recurring mix of losses: winter pipe bursts in unoccupied second homes, kitchen and electrical fires, flash flooding along the Passaic and Saddle River corridors, and wind and tree damage after coastal storms. Each has a different rebuild path and a different permit profile. Flood-damaged properties in mapped zones may also trigger elevation and substantial-improvement requirements, which we evaluate early because they change both the design and the budget. Strong Construction LLC is licensed under NJ HIC #13VH13936900 and fully insured.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work directly with insurance adjusters?

Yes. We prepare a documented, line-item scope of repair, review it with your adjuster, and support supplements with photographs and code references when hidden damage is uncovered. You remain the policyholder and approve every decision, but you do not have to build the scope yourself.

Can we upgrade finishes during an insurance rebuild?

Often, yes. The carrier pays to restore pre-loss condition, and any upgrade beyond that is priced as a separate homeowner-funded line. Keeping the two budgets clearly separated in writing protects your claim and makes the final accounting simple.

Do you handle permits and inspections?

Yes. We pull the building, plumbing, electrical, and fire permits, coordinate the plan review with the local construction office, and meet every inspector on site. You never have to sit in a municipal office or chase a subcode official. Our license and insurance certificates are filed with the township before we start.

How long will the work take?

A kitchen typically runs eight to twelve weeks on site once materials are in hand, a bathroom four to six weeks, and a whole-home renovation four to eight months depending on structural work. We order cabinetry and stone before demolition so your home is not sitting open waiting on a delivery.
