Luxury Kitchen Remodeling in New Jersey
A luxury kitchen is not a collection of expensive appliances. It is a room where the proportions are right, the storage is planned around how you actually cook and entertain, the lighting flatters both the stone and the people standing under it, and every reveal and miter is tight enough to survive close inspection.
Strong Construction LLC builds those kitchens across Northern New Jersey. We are a licensed design-build firm with more than 20 years of work in Bergen, Hudson, Essex, and Monmouth counties, and our carpenters are in house.
Custom cabinetry and millwork built to the room
Semi-custom boxes with filler strips are not the same thing as cabinetry designed to the exact dimensions of your walls. We specify full-height panels, integrated appliance fronts, furniture-style islands, fluted or beaded detailing, interior drawer organization, and hardware weight that matches the doors it carries. Paint-grade work is sprayed and hand-finished, and stain-grade doors are sequenced so the grain reads consistently across a run. Because we produce and install our own millwork, the scribe against an out-of-plumb 1920s wall is handled on site rather than becoming a caulk line.
Stone, appliances, and the details that separate the result
We walk the slab yard with you and tag the exact pieces, then template digitally so veining runs through a waterfall return and a book-matched backsplash lands where you expect. Integrated refrigeration, column freezers, steam ovens, and 48-inch ranges each carry ventilation, electrical, and clearance requirements that must be resolved during design rather than during installation. We coordinate makeup air where the hood requires it, plan under-cabinet and toe-kick lighting on separate circuits, and set outlets in the cabinet interior or under the counter nose so they disappear.
Transparent pricing at the high end
Luxury does not mean vague. Our contract is a line-item document with real numbers next to every category. In Bergen County a typical high-quality kitchen lands between $45,000 and $85,000, while a full-gut renovation with custom cabinetry, premium stone, and professional appliances runs $110,000 and up. Structural changes, new windows, and relocating plumbing stacks are priced separately so you can see what each ambition costs. Allowances are documented, and any change is written and signed before it is ordered.
Permits, schedule, and a clean job site
We file the permits, meet the inspectors, and manage the trades. Materials are ordered and delivered before demolition, so a twelve-week kitchen actually finishes in twelve weeks. Your floors, stairs, and adjacent rooms are protected, dust barriers stay sealed, and the site is cleaned daily. For clients staying in the home we can set up a temporary kitchen with a sink, refrigerator, and counter space so life continues while the work happens.
Where we build luxury kitchens
Our luxury kitchen work concentrates in Alpine, Saddle River, Franklin Lakes, Ridgewood, Tenafly, Englewood Cliffs, Short Hills, Summit, Rumson, and the waterfront towers of Fort Lee, Edgewater, and Jersey City. Each of those markets brings its own realities. Older Ridgewood and Montclair homes often need structural and electrical work behind the finish. Newer Franklin Lakes and Saddle River properties tend toward larger footprints with butler pantries and secondary prep kitchens. Waterfront condos require board approval, insurance certificates, and elevator coordination, all of which we handle for you.
What Every Project Includes
Frequently Asked Questions
What do renovations in this area typically cost?
Most Bergen County kitchens land between $45,000 and $85,000. Simpler refreshes that keep the existing layout can start near $35,000, and full-gut renovations with custom cabinetry and premium stone run $110,000 and up. Most bathrooms run $20,000 to $40,000, with high-end primary baths between $40,000 and $75,000. Every number we give you is written into a fixed-price proposal before any demolition begins.
How long will the work take?
A kitchen typically runs eight to twelve weeks on site once materials are in hand, a bathroom four to six weeks, and a whole-home renovation four to eight months depending on structural work. We order cabinetry and stone before demolition so your home is not sitting open waiting on a delivery.
How does your design-build process work?
We start with an on-site consultation, measure and photograph the space, and talk through how you actually use it. From there we produce drawings, a selection list, and a line-item proposal with real allowances. Once you approve, we file permits, order long-lead items, and publish a schedule you can follow week by week. One team owns design, permits, and construction, so nothing falls between a designer and a builder.
Can we stay in the house during construction?
Most clients do. We build dust partitions, protect floors and stair treads, run negative air where needed, and keep the work zone sealed at the end of every day. For whole-home projects we phase the work so you always have a functioning kitchen or bathroom, or we help you plan a short-term move.
